Athletic Therapists are an athlete's MVP.  Not only do we provide emergency care when players sustain injuries, we are also responsible for assessing an athlete's injuries and evaluating whether or not they can return to their sport or activity, potentially through the use of prophylactic taping if need be.  AT's are skilled tapers since we are trained to know a wide variety of tape and wrap jobs that will provide stability and support to many different body parts specific to that sport.  We then work closely with the athletes as we rehab them back to health at the clinic through alot of hands-on work and sport-specific exercises, as well as educate them on prevention of re-injury.

We like to have fun!

Treatments provided at our clinic involve an in-depth and thorough Initial Assessment to begin with, followed by a variety of manual therapy techniques such as Myofascial Trigger Point Release, Massage, Soft Tissue Release, Joint Mobilizations, Muscle Energy and Myofascial Release, as well as CranioSacral Therapy Techniques.  The use of therapeutic modalities (such as Ultrasound & Muscle Stim for example), are also part of the treatment protocol depending on the patient's needs and stages of rehabilitation.

We promote total body health and wellness, therefore we have a great team of healthcare professionals to add to your Athletic Therapy care: a Chiropodist for foot ailments and orthotic prescriptions, a Registered Massage Therapist for deep tissue work and relaxation, a Yoga Therapist for assisting in better flexibility and stress relief, a Personal Trainer & Nutritionist for specific strength gains and overall health goals, and a Life Coach & Reflexologist for overall wellness. Our clinic is medium-sized and intimate which make people of all ages feel very comfortable, and not like they are in a factory.

Patients will be educated on prevention of re-injury, and their rehabilitation process will involve a series of progressional exercises that will focus on improving their flexibility, correcting muscle imbalances and the strengthening needed for a safe and effective "Return To Play".

Educating the public:

1) We strongly believe in educating the public not only about the profession of Athletic Therapy (which many people still dont know of), but also on Injury Prevention.  Please visit our "Courses & Seminars" page for more information, if you wish to have a Free Seminar on one of our specific topics.

2) We've also noticed the abundance of trainers working in the Ottawa area with various sports teams, that could use some extra education on taping techniques and sports injury management in order to provide a safer sporting environment for kids.  Therefore, we have created a Basic Sports Injury Management and Taping Course & Advanced Taping Techniques Course for those individuals wishing to be further educated in the field.

3) Terri Morgan, our Yoga Therapist, will be providing Free Seminars Mondays from 12:30-1:30 on a variety of topics in the field.  Sign up today for a seminar!
