Shockwave Therapy, or Radial Shockwave Therapy, is used to treat patients suffering from a wide range of chronic conditions, including plantar fasciitis and achilles tendinopathy, that are notoriously difficult to resolve.

What to Expect

Shockwaves are acoustic waves with an extremely high energy peak similar to that generated in a lightning strike or a sonic boom.  These sound waves cause an inflammatory response in the tissue which in turn results in the development of new blood vessels to assist with the overall healing process. A shockwave differs from ultrasound by its extremely large pressure amplitude and single pulse.  This form of treatment accelerates the healing of many chronic bone, joint and soft tissue pain.
